In a recent article we told you about three of the most common types of floors that we end up applying floor coatings to. The most obvious, of course, are garage floors. As the garage becomes more of an extension of the living space, people want garage floor coatings to make their workspace look as good as possible. Basements are another space to which we’ll apply epoxy floor coatings, either across the entire space or just in selected areas like under a pool table or around the wet bar. Finally, many warehouses are interested in getting epoxy coatings, in part to protect the concrete underneath but even more often to help with quick and easy spill clean-up.

PROFESSIONAL KITCHENS

Whether it’s a high-end kitchen in a fancy restaurant or one in a school that’s feeding 1,500 kids every day, one thing is for sure: you want to be able to clean up spills quickly. And there are few places that are more likely to have spills than a kitchen.

Kitchen epoxy coatings are a great way to be able to clean up that spill quickly and easily, even in the middle of a busy shift. It could be truffle oil, it could be peach juice out of a five-gallon container. Either way, clean up is fast and the floor will quickly regain its anti-slip surface.

RETAIL SPACES

The type of floor coatings used in a retail space is often decided by the type of business it is. You won’t be surprised to learn that an indoor garden center is looking for something considerably different than a spa would be. The garden center’s primary goal is anti-slip, while the spa is more interested in showing off their logo that is forever embedded under the polyurethane concrete sealer, impressing each client as they walk through the door.

FUN CENTERS

One of the most interesting places to find concrete sealers is in fun centers. First of all, they need a coating that will hold up to hundreds of kids running it around on it all day while showing minimal signs of wear. They’re also looking for floors with anti-slip coatings in case someone spills their soda or drops a slice of pizza on the floor.

But those are practical; let’s talk fun! The floor coatings you’ll find in fun centers can have very cool add-ons and add-ins that create a one-of-a-kind space. Imagine a glow-in-the-dark floor for a laser tag arena, or a highly-metallic epoxy floor that reflects all of the light from above, creating a shimmering floor under the bumper carts. These little extras are the things that impress the parents as well as the kids.
